Saliva Testing

The testing and research performed at Better Health is based on the principles of the ancient Chinese methods of body balancing similar to the arts of acupressure and acupuncture. We have combined these principles with the techniques of neuromuscular testing to create personalized nutritional programs based on the unique needs of the individual.

Neuromuscular Testing

Neuromuscular testing utilizes the body's natural brain to body response to identify cellular weakness or imbalances. Whenever weakness or imbalances are noted in a client's test sample, nutrition that will strengthen and enhance those specific areas will be recommended.

Why is saliva used in our testing?

While mostly water, saliva contains electrolytes, buffers, antibodies, hormones, enzymes, sugar-coated molecules known as mucin, proteins, and a host of minerals. The elements found in blood that can be tested can also be tested on saliva. It, too, is like a blue-print of the body on a cellular level.

Testing your saliva enables imbalances to be brought back into balance. Your personal program is specific for you and addresses your needs on a cellular level. This information is not a replacement for medical diagnosis and treatment.

Herbal Evaluation

Your saliva is tested on over 200 herbal blend/extracts specifically designed to support, enhance, and build your body’s defenses. These encourage proper detoxification and elimination while providing necessary phytonutrients essential to your body’s needs. Herbal blends were developed based on scientific testing. These blends are powerful, yet gentle to the body. There are no fillers and no animals were tested or harmed in the process. Herbal blends are easily assimilated as they are entirely food based and rich in enzymes. Usually one or more of these form the foundation of your program.

Supplement Assessment

We evaluate your saliva on over 800 supplements and homeopathics. Your saliva determines scientifically which professional grade formulas will build and support your body systems. These provide the exact nutrition your saliva shows that you are lacking. There are no fillers. These work synergistically with the Herbal blends and extracts in order to meet your specific needs. A program is designed around this specific set of nutritionals. Your individual system usually requests several specified vitamins and/or combinations out of the 800 plus products utilized. This process is very selective and does not encourage over-abundance or over-use, as more is not better.

Food Sensitivity and Personalized Diet

Over 400 foods are analyzed based on your individual needs and sensitivities. Your saliva allows us to decipher which foods will bring you increased energy, health, and nutritional advantages.  Foods are analyzed to determine if they are causing, contributing, or creating imbalances, sensitivities, and even allergies. Many improper foods contribute to illness, as well. This intricate testing method highlights and points out problematic substances, which in turn allows you, individually, to avoid such trigger foods. Through dietary recommendations you are given a list of beneficial foods, and foods to avoid. There is no replacement for proper nutrition. The advantage of having an individualized list of whole foods beneficial to your body's specific needs is invaluable.

Toxicity Evaluation

Chemical Sensitivities are highlighted under this segment of testing. Often the toxins we are exposed to cause severe imbalances in our delicate body systems. Mineral imbalances can be the key to unlocking the door to regained health and restored balance. Noted information is provided and recommendations are made in order to help the body easily eliminate the toxins that are hindering healthy progress. This testing and necessary toxic elimination is an extremely beneficial way of addressing environmental imbalances.
